Beschreibung

Starting your role as a works council member comes with immediate responsibilities: Colleagues turn to you with questions, important decisions need to be made, and discussions with management are on the horizon. This practical seminar provides newly elected works council members with the essential legal knowledge, rights and protections they need to act confidently from day one.

The course German Works Constitution Law, Part 1 (BR 1) – A Confident Start on the Works Council is specifically designed for newly elected works council members who want to understand their responsibilities and fulfil their role with confidence. Rather than simply memorising legal provisions, the seminar focuses on practical exercises based on typical situations in everyday works council activities.

You will learn how to prepare meetings and adopt legally valid resolutions, request information from management and recognise when consultation and co-determination rights apply. The seminar also introduces the essential principles of German labour law and explains how works councils cooperate with management, trade unions and other employee representative bodies.

Through realistic case studies and hands-on exercises, you will develop the knowledge and confidence your works council needs to operate effectively. You will gain practical skills and greater confidence in decision-making, helping you navigate your day-to-day works council responsibilities with clarity and assurance.

Course fee: €990 plus applicable VAT and additional hotel costs. Hotel costs are not included in the course fee.
